I was born in New York City and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I attended Yale University, from which I graduated Magna Cum Laude with distinction in my major of American Studies. I became interested in a medical career after an unexpected encounter with the front bumper of a Chevy on a sidewalk in Manhattan. I pursued my pre-medical studies at Bryn Mawr College and earned my medical degree from Stanford University. I completed my internship and residency in pediatrics at Stanford University Medical Center. I was Chief of Pediatrics at the Mountain View location of Kaiser Permanente, where I practiced for 13 years and performed hundreds of hospital-based circumcisions.

I serve on the Board of Directors of Stanford Hillel and am a graduate of the Wexner Heritage Fellowship Program. My growing interest in Jewish ritual life led me to train to become a certified Mohelet of the Brit Milah Board of Reform Judaism. The training program included both medical and ritual instruction. I am an board member of NOAM, the National Organization of American Mohelim.

I am the mother of two children, a son and a daughter. I personally understand that the decision to bring your son into the community of the Jewish people through this ritual can be full of emotion. I also know how gratifying it is to feel connected with the generations that have come before us and with Jews across the globe.

II feel incredibly privileged that I have able to help families fulfill the mitzvah of Brit Milah using my medical training and openness to the diversity of Jewish families.
